My name is Roel Zwama, I live in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I started to grow an interest in the Dutch maritime history around 1980. So I started collecting books at first, followed by pictures. Then I started to collect data on those pictures by researching books like the Lloyd's registers and various literature in the Maritime Museum here in Rotterdam. At first I used a type-writer to type the information on a sheet with the picture, but whenever I had to insert new information, it was a complete nightmare. So about 10 years ago my son talked me into using a computer to store the information. This was a big struggle in the beginning and it's a miracle the computer survived all my anger, but it did and now I am really happy I did it.
